UVI's Buccaneers won their first-ever home playoff game Friday, March 22, downing UPR-Arecibo in convincing fashion, 94-85. Salim Ross led the Bucs scoring in Friday's game with 25 points. Jerrick Amaro added 17 and Trevonte LaRose contributed 14.
The Bucs basketball team is now 1-1 in the Liga Atletica Interuniversitaria (LAI) playoffs and return to Puerto Rico today (Monday, March 25) to faceoff with Caribbean University in a 6 p.m. game.
